2017 Samsung Tizen Smart TV Review – 4K HDR TV MU6300 – Tizen is Terrible – Netcruzer TECH

Netcruzer TECH review of a 2017 Samsung MU6300 Tizen Smart TV with 4K UHD HDR. Wow Tizen is terrible and buggy and the CEC and ARC is the worst implementation I’ve ever seen. It’s too bad, the picture is really nice, the smart software is not. Samsung 4K TV USA: http://amzn.to/2yst5t2 CANADA: http://amzn.to/2j3md0g but I don’t recommend them. See the ROKU and SONY TV videos I made, those have much better interfaces. SONY 4K TV USA: http://amzn.to/2ys8QM3 CANADA: http://amzn.to/2j1gU17 [click show more]

Advice please…
I ordered this tv model MU6300 online in a 75 inch size for $1,998 here in Canada at Wal-Mart. Payed $2,333.45 included taxes + shipping fee + environmental fee. I haven’t received it yet but should arrive soon by next week. I got 30 days to get a full refund if I’m not satisfied. I basically bought this tv for 2 purposes, playing video games on my Wii Ü and playing 4k ultra discs + blurays & dvds movies on my samsung 4k player. So my question is even though its not a perfect tv. I’m only concerned about the quality picture graphics. I know Samsung qled tvs got a greater picture quality but is it almost the same between the two ? If I get a 75 qled Samsung it would cost me approximately $5,000 +. What do you recommend? Is it a big difference between this model and qled ? I’m not rich and therefore I can only afford this for now as it’s a great deal. It will take me a year or more to purchase the 75 Samsung qled model. Let me know if this is a great buy for picture quality. I know qled offers tripple black and colour extream and other high end features. I basically want a great tv with high end picture quality. I currently own a samsung 65 tv model KU6290. Is this a great improvement upgrade or should I just move forward with a qled tv? So confused. Please help. Thank you 😉

I bought mu6300 because it’s reviewed as the best picture of any of the current budget 4K TVs (I agree, the picture is pretty good in a darker room) and 43″ the biggest that will fit in my TV space (choices for 43″ 4K are very limited). Like you said, though, the software is really buggy for anything other than apps and wi-fi. I mostly watch shows from my DVR and the “smart” remote only works with maybe half the DVR’s functions. When I try to turn off everything via the remote’s power button, it turns off both the TV and the DVR…but, after about 15 seconds, the TV turns itself back on and asks me if I want to turn the DVR on(?!) I then have to press the power button, again, and it finally turns off the TV. Never had these problems with any of the many Sonys I’ve bought in the past.

Do you have a Tizen TV and experienced the ARC CEC bugs? Also when I mention this is the only IPS panel TV in the Samsung range at 17:14, I mean in the MU6300 sizes. Not sure what panels are used in the higher end units, but they all have this same Tizen software and ARC issues according to the Samsung support forums. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/tv/thread-id/168/page/1

Yah, I always hesitated to buy a Tizen TV. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. LIKE
