As a W1070 owner, I can honestly say while it has a cheap price in respects to Benq’s other models, it does an awesome job at projecting an image. Active 3D is even more awesome. The cons are the built in speaker which is a joke from an audio perspective. It’s a bit noisy and it’s a bit of light polluter. Gaming on it is really good since its input lag averages roughly around 20ms. It’s all projected on a self mounted 175 inch Carl’s Flexiwhite 1.1 gain screen material. Even at that size minus around 2 inches from the edges, it does a great job even with the Active 3D. One thing I have noticed while reading and watching reviews, no one ever mentions the lenses in respects to what they are made of. The W1070 is an actual glass lens not plastic.

These are the set of Active 3D glasses I chose for the projector.
Cheaper: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S8S26TE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
More Expensive: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CRN3D98/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not much a difference between the two models. I prefer the cheaper set since it seems to fit me better.

what do you think about the 4050 is that an up grade to the 3050

Gregory Kanniard says:

I’ve had a W1070 for years now and it’s better than most TVs. I have it mounted above my bed at the moment for Netflix, Hulu, and PS4. Best picture in the house. Built in Audio is horrible, though. It cost me a grand when I got it so, you’d have to be an idiot to use the built in speakers.

Kerry K says:

I’ve been using a BenQ 1080ST for over three years and it’s been great. Great picture that is sharp, not too loud, and the lamps are relatively inexpensive–I’m only about halfway through my lamp’s expected life. It’s a tremendous value and I enjoy it very much.

TheFederer97 says:

Thanks for not showing the fucking price wich is like the most important thing.

Shetani09 says:

Seems like this is an old list? not 2017 models?, you should remake I think Benq w1070 is replaced and Optoma GT1080 also has a newer version.

Dawn Damron says:

“Which one of these could or would be able to project a film onto a Drive in theater sized screen ???? ” ( Thanks ahead of time for the information )

Jim Burgan says:

Overlooked: Optoma HD26 projector Full 1080p, 3200 lumens, 25,000:1 contrast ratio, built in 10w speaker (but who uses it?), 3D using DLP Link or VESA 3D, Remote and best of all the price is less than $600 (much less). There is a newer model, the HD28 (3,000 lumens and 30,000:1 contrast ratio with a $650 price tag). The Optoma HD26 has a much brighter and crisper picture than any of the BenQ projectors included in this review, not to mention that the BenQ HT3050 is selling for $1000 on Amazon. Still, I really appreciate this well-done video!
